Comrade Kati addresses a few common training concerns for the Ladies
But I just want to lose weight... Can’t I just do cardio?
I was once just like you... all I wanted was cardio... But are you getting the results you want? When I found myself carrying around a little extra weight, I tried to just “run” it off. I even tried some popular aerobics DVDs (you know, the kind they sell on TV late at night when you should be sleeping) but was getting no results after many months. I finally realized that a strength training program was the key to change, and my love affair with the kettlebell began.

Here’s why it works: Muscle tissue is metabolically active. Huh? Simply put, having a body made up of lean muscle tissue enables you to burn more calories even after your workout is done and you are resting. Burning more calories means losing more fat. So, if you aren’t doing anything to strengthen your muscles, you are only decreasing your calorie burning potential.

But not to worry my fellow cardio addicts - you will have the best cardio workouts of your life with kettlebell swings and snatches! You can thank me later...
But I’m so busy! Who has the time these days?
I know - you work two jobs, you have to drive the kids around, you have to get dinner (or take out) on the table... and who wants to give up time for date nights or the occasional cocktail with the girls? I hear you. Well, we’ve already covered the fact that we won’t be isolating muscle groups... so no more spending hours wandering up to each different machine at the gym and then hopping on the treadmill. Hardstyle kettlebell workouts can often be done in as little as 10 minutes and can last up to around 45 minutes (anything more is unnecessary). You will learn exercises that cover greater ranges of motion and get you strengthening your whole body at once. Best of all, because you are using weights you are able to get strength and cardio at once. Now there’s some multi-tasking that’s good for you!
If I start training with weights, will I start looking like a man?
No! Believe me, I wouldn’t be working out with kettlebells if that was the case. The fact is that women don’t naturally have the testosterone levels necessary to build large manly muscles. With kettlebell training you can expect your muscles to become more defined and toned over time, and you will gain amazing strength without becoming bulky. Also, Hardstyle kettlebell exercises are designed to have your body working as whole unit... makes sense since that’s what it is, right? As the training is not focused on isolating individual muscle groups, there is little chance of becoming overly developed in one particular part of your body. If you’ve been associating kettlebell training with that corner of your local gym where the guys are grunting and doing bicep curls and lat rows - think again! Not on my watch, girls!
But I’m out of shape... Can I really do this?
Kettlebell training is for everyone! Young or old, overweight or underweight, male or female, pro athlete or pro couch potato. We have worked with people of varied fitness levels, and we will train you at whatever level you are at when you show up. Even people who have had injuries and chronic pain are finding themselves developing stronger shoulders, hips and backs than they ever thought possible. If you have had injuries or have medical concerns about training, we do recommend contacting your doctor before beginning any new exercise program. If you have any questions about this, you can contact us here.Contact_Us.htmlshapeimage_8_link_0
